Abbie Phillipson 80 retired Roodepoort City cashier, choked to death in front of neighbours:black gardener arrested Jan19201 Krugersdorp - Beeld newspaper - Eighty-year-old retired Roodepoort municipal cashier Mrs Abbie Phillipson was murdered in her heavily-barricaded backyard on Wednesday Jan 19 2011. A ‘trusted black gardener ‘ was arrested for throttling her to death with a shoelace after stuffing her mouth with a rag and taping over her face - in full view of horrified neighbouring workers who had climbed on the roof when they heard her screams. Some of her jewellery was found hidden inside the lawn-mower bag by the cops afterwards. Her cellphone is missing.
