Janine Meintjies passed away 25/12/2010 from injuries sustained due to a knife and hammer attack on her smallholding in Dundee on the evening Friday 24/12/2010.Janine was a widowed mother of two young children (under 6 years old). She lost her husband in a motorcycle accident a couple years ago.

Gary Potgieter wrote Jan 7 2010: "I can update: Her attacker was apprehended on 30/31 Dec by a Newcastle Task Force. He was arrested in his shack about 40km from Dundee. The motive for the attack is still unclear, but was is clear is that only minor items were stolen. So far, it appears he was acting alone. He had cut a pane of glass out of one of her windows and placed it back, so that he could gain entry easily at a later time.
