A Vaalwater police officer in LImpopo has finally been suspected WITHOUT PAY after he was charged on March 14 2012 for brutally assaulting and kicking unconscious a 19year-old youth named Norman Mokau - and which scene was filmed and placed on YouTube and watched worldwide:

. The Sowetan newspaper first reported the incident on 24 November 2011 after an onlooker had published a video taken by his cellphone on YouTube. The independent police directorate took a full SIX MONTHS before they even took action against the police-officer, who according to local residents on March 1 2012, was STILL WORKING THERE.

Despite the fact that the youth lodged formal charges against the cops nothing was done until March 1 2012 -- when the SA police directorate announced theyw ere investigating police-brutality against the cop -- but only after their attention was drawn by members of the public to the YouTube video.

The video shows how the black police officer kicks the black 19-year-old in the head - which clearly knocks the youngster unconscious, as his body went very limp. Then the cop drags the youth to the police van in a very hard-handed way and beats the youth over the head and kicks him in the back several times.

Mokau survived the ordeal: he told Sowetan that he was playing snooker with some friends in the (small home) serving as a shebeen, a pub, when he fell and accidentially cut his hand on a window pane he broke in his fall.

His hand bled copiously and he was still covering up the cut with bandages when the policeman grabbed him and started assaulting him, kicking him and dragging him to the van. He lodged a formal complaint against the policeman but it took six months before the authorities took action: on the contrary, Sowetan reports that the man even was promoted as acting station commander of the Vaalwater police station after this brutal assault. The SAPS Limpopo regional spokesman brig Hangwani Mulaudzi told Sowetan on March 15 2012 (pic attached) that the police officer has now been suspended WITHOUT PAY wrrific incident.
