25 Nov 2011 Honeydew SAPS reservist, arrested with unlicensed hunting rifles enroute to private game reserve
Today a black resrevist-SAPS constable Goodwill Sibuyi 37, stationed at Hazyview, together with his accomplices, Floyd Moshoana 31, Almadio Mashele 31 and December Silinda 36, appeared before the Hazyview Magistrates' Court for defeating the ends of justice, possession of illegal firearms and ammunition.Police acted on information received about men who were in possession of hunting rifles on their way to a private game reserve, driving in a red Toyota Hilux.
Police spotted the vehicle with six occupants and it was intercepted. Four suspects were arrested and two managed to flee. The police are currently pursuing leads about the suspects on the run. The suspects have been remanded in custody and are due to appear again on 1 December 2011, for a formal bail application.
The South African Police Service welcomes the tangible tip off by the community which led to the recovering of the two unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
